About Us & FAQs

We established www.Heart-Rings.net in April 2010.  Originally it was intended as a means by which to generate income to supplement the inventory of our other site, Citrus Avenue Collectibles, where we've sold vintage costume jewelry since 2005.  Since its establishment, however, www.Heart-Rings.net has sort of taken on a life of its own and frankly, though we initially were not over fond of heart rings, we have since developed a true appreciation for this particular style of jewelry.

Browse our pages and you'll see why we believe the heart ring to be one of the most versatile jewelry designs around.  On these pages you'll see funky rings, chunky rings, romantic rings, delicate rings, in-your-face rings....all with the heart shape as a central theme.  The vision and talent of the jewelry designers whose ideas are represented on these pages is both impressive and eye opening.

Do You List Every Heart Ring You See?

Heck, no.  And believe it or not, we don't rely on automatic data feeds to compile our site either.  Each heart ring listed here has a product description written by us.  And we visit each individual jewelry retailer's site and search for rings to list.

Did you know that on some sites a search for a term such as Amethyst Heart Ring may return entirely different results than a search for Heart Shaped Amethyst Ring or Amethyst and Diamond Heart Ring?

Or that a search on a retailer site or shopping comparison site for the term Amethyst Heart Ring may return a mixed bag of results?  You could find yourself wading through search results that include Amethyst Heart Toe Rings and Amethyst Heart Earrings and Amethyst Heart Belly Button Rings.

Here we focus only on the heart ring and the heart motif ring - after we've visited the retailer site and make sure sufficient product information is provided so that you can make an informed decision.

We also host and resize the ring pictures you see on our site.  We settled on a 200x200 pixel image as the ideal size for the shopper.  It's a size that provides enough detail at first glance for you to see whether the ring is of interest to you.

We firmly believe that, with jewelry sales anyway, you might not know exactly what you're searching for, but you will definitely know it when you see it.  Consequently, we take the original images available to us through the jewelry retailer, crop the image as necessary then resize it as required, so that the website user can compare similarly sized photos in as streamlined a process as possible.

It's for the above reasons that we feel our site offers a top quality experience for the heart ring shopper.  From the hands-on techniques we use to assemble the site, to its pages dedicated specifically to the heart shaped gemstone cut, the millimeters to inches conversion chart, and our jewelry coupons and promo codes page (where we list any jewelry promo codes that come our way, particularly those that may help you discount your heart ring purchase), you'll find our site takes your best interests 'to heart.'

How Often Do You Check Your Links and Price Ranges?

We check each and every link, by hand, once a week (usually on Mondays/Tuesdays).  We make sure at that time that the links are working correctly, that they will lead you, the shopper, to the correct page, and that the rings we list are ordered as much as possible in ascending order of price.  If you stumble upon a non-working link or a ring listed in the wrong price order, rest assured that the link will be corrected or removed by the following week.

Do the Ring Prices Change a Lot?

Surprisingly, no!  We've had some rings listed that, literally, we've not had to move out of their price range position since this site's inception.  Others seem to change, usually by just a few dollars, every week.  And that doesn't always mean the price went up.  We find we generally have to adjust price range positions, both up and down, about 50/50 each week.  And the total number of adjustments made each week equals maybe 5-10% of the total rings we list.

Is there a pattern?  Not that we can tell.  What we can say is this:  The page that consistently requires the most adjustment from one week to the next is the Children's Heart Ring page.  Why?  Beats us.  The Gold Heart Ring page is the other page that requires a lot of fine tuning from one week to the next, but again, prices seem to go down just as consistently as they go up.  You could say it's due to fluctuating gold prices, but that would then logically affect the gold gemstone rings as well, which doesn't seem to be the case.

A Quick Shopping Tip:

Most jewelry retailers, rather than change the price tag on a ring, will instead issue special promo codes or coupon codes for the items they wish to move.  A good example is Diviene, one of the jewelry retailers whose rings we list.  During the month of November, though they didn't drop the price tags on their citrine jewelry (citrine is the birthstone for the month of November), they did offer a 20% discount on all citrine jewelry if you used the promo code CITRINE at checkout.  Since Diviene already has pretty darn good pricing, the availability of the promo code made any citrine purchase extra sweet.

Be sure, if you browse our site and see a heart ring you like, that you also do a quick visit to our Jewelry Coupons and Promo Codes page to see if we also have a jewelry coupon code listed that will help you out on your purchase.
