Tanzanite Heart Rings

Welcome to our Tanzanite Heart Ring page. Tanzanite is an official birthstone for the month of December, as is blue topaz and turquoise, and is considered a precious gemstone. Tanzanite is also a Type I clarity gemstone, which means it has excellent natural clarity; tanzanite jewelry can easily be found with clarity designations of 'clean' or 'eye-clean' meaning there are no inclusions visible to the naked eye (an inclusion is an interior flaw or fissure that is part of a gemstone's natural characteristics).

Tanzanite is a relative newcomer to the gemstone and jewelry world, having only been discovered in 1967. It has a beautiful blue color with distinct undertones of lavender/purple. This gemstone's distinct colors occur under high heat and thus tanzanite jewelry is routinely heat treated, as natural, untreated tanzanite is usually brownish in color.
